Kids chill out at Capital of Children’s ice sculpting event
There was a whole lot of hacking, chopping and cutting going on during this year’s winter holidays as more than 150 children became ice sculptors for the day in the Capital of Children.
Taking place on Friday 15 February 2013, the budding young artists made their creations in a marquee set up by the Billund Trade Association outside the CoCC offices. Sculpting tips were provided by ice artist Søren Nielsen Cip from ‘Ice Team’, who was also on hand with a gas burner to give the kids’ ice sculptures a glossy finish.
Youngsters waiting their turn for some icy fun were invited inside to draw and colour, as well as enjoy some lemonade and cakes from the Billund Bakery.
Parents and grandparents warmed themselves with coffee and socialised while the kids worked on their projects.
With almost 500 participants, the day’s events in the Capital of Children proved a huge success to the delight of the organisers, the Billund Trade Association and the Capital of Children Company.
